THANK YOU FOR 6 AMAZING YEARS, THERESA & A WARM WELCOME TO NAAMA
As Bluezone’s “heart and head” for 6 years, Theresa, is waiting to become a mom in only a few weeks, we want to say a big THANK YOU to our beloved project manager. And at the same time give a WARM WELCOME to Naama, her highly motivated successor.
We asked Theresa to share her all-time-favorite moments and tasks of all shows and projects she has been working on during the last six years – and she came up with the four following highlights:
My first show in 2017: Of course, the first show I managed from beginning to the end, seeing the final event after 6 months of intensive work and countless new ideas. All adding up to two vibrant, energetic and happy show days, when all starts to make sense and I could finally understand why each little step of the process is so important and how it all comes together.
Expanding BLUEZONE: The expansion of the Bluezone show from one hall to the All Star Mills and the Catalyzer was a very fruitful and fascinating time – working together with Panos Sofianos who joined the BLUEZONE team for that occasion. We visited a lot of interesting shows, expanded our network and learned a great deal of new things.
Creating KEYHOUSE: Definitely one of the most exciting times was the concept creation, planning and acquisition for the new innovation space KEYHOUSE. Seeing so many inspiring, ambitious and thriving characters coming together at Keyhouse all with the same goal of creating a more sustainable and innovative future for the textile sector and our visitors immediately accepting the new concept, was very rewarding.
The BLUEZONE family: In general, the warm, family atmosphere and spirit ahead of the show and on site is very valuable to me. I always organise the events with all my heart and appreciate a lot to receive rewarding feedback from the Bluezone family. Every show feels more like a reunion with old friends, rather than a business meeting. You can be sure that I am going to miss this and you in future!
Now, we can’t wait to introduce you to our new project manager of BLUEZONE and KEYHOUSE: Naama Poliker. We’d love to give you an insight into Naama’s interesting background, personality and passions which is why we asked her to answer some short interview questions for you:
Naama, first of all, your name is super special, so your heritage and background must be interesting as well – can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Naama: I was born and raised in Israel, with origins from diverse places such as Turkey, Iraq and Portugal. In the past, I was an officer in the Israeli army (everyone has to do military service in Israel). After my service, I worked as a teacher and educator for high school students. In between all of that, I managed to keep working in the fashion industry which has always been my true passion. So I moved to Munich almost a year ago with the decision to fulfill my dreams – I first worked as a stylist and now I feel super lucky to start working for Munich Fabric Start.
What did you think about your first show experience at the last BLUEZONE? What was your favorite moment?
Naama: Experiencing BLUEZONE for the first time was exciting for me. Despite the crazy world we are living in right now, the team made the show happen with the strong focus on one thing: Fashion. I had so much fun meeting the BLUEZONE family – which is filled with special energy, great and talented people from all around the world and lots of style.
What is it that fascinates you about fashion, the innovations in this industry and the denim world?
Naama: The previous show made it very clear: the world needs fashion, and the most fashionable textile there is is denim. The history shows it: the best way of expressing your best version is by wearing denim. What looks better than a good pair of jeans? Aside with the KEYHOUSE, I am thrilled to see what’s waiting for us in the future of the textile industry, and how to make a more ecological and at the same time beautiful world, from the inside and the outside.
