DRIVING INNOVATION: ADVANCE DENIM
With Sustainability and sustainable manufacturing as its core values, it’s no wonder (but still super impressive) that Advance Denim was the first denim mill in China to obtain GOTS certification. Also being the oldest denim mill in China (!), they already build a large scale, state of the art sewage treatment plant as one of the first major sustainable investments in 1990.
Amy Wang, who became Advance Denim’s general manager in 2009, tells us about the company’s long-term sustainable development strategy in their latest video:
“My first initiative as general manager was to formulate a long-term sustainable development strategy. We developed and launched the GreenLET collection of sustainable styles as well as the GreenLET standard which is the gold standard for sustainable development. Year after year, we have increased our sustainable investments and developments. Advance Denim is the 1st denim mill in China to obtain GOTS certification. We currently use massive amounts of organic cotton, BCI cotton, recycled cotton, Tencel, Hemp, biodegradable and recycled polyester and nylon in our denim products. Innovation and sustainability are the driving forces behind Advance Denims cutting edge styles. We are confident that these core values will help us realize our denim dreams.”
